Futsal is a game that people love from all around the world mostly European countries. In futsal you need to have 5 players or more because only the goalie and four other player are on the futsal field. Juan Carlos Ceriani invented futsal in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1930, he wanted a game like football that can be played indoor or outdoor. So he made some rules that was like football and decided on a field the size of a basketball court. Futsal 2014 is hosted by Belgium.

Europe was so into futsal that they made a futsal world cup in Argentina and Brazil. In 2009 the best futsal teams were Brazil and Spain because their score in all the matches were the same. In Brazil futsal is played by more people than football but does not pull in as many spectators as the outdoor sport. Several football players have moved on to successful professional futsal teams.

It is really easy to play futsal because you just need 5 players. Find a league where you can play. A quick web search will show where there is a league nearby. Dress for soccer but without cleats. You can have shin guards but they are not always necessary. The goal is smaller to a football goal. There's no goal box on the Corners and you do not have arcs or flags. Get a futsal ball and get a feel for it. It's heavier and bounces less than a soccer ball they made it like this so the ball doesn’t go flying away, a futsal ball will always be on the ground. Ask what your position is. Because there are only four players and a goalie.

There is no Offsides Rule, which everyone likes. When the ball goes out of bounds, you don't throw it in you must place the ball on the line where it went out and kick it in, and you have four seconds to do it. If you haven't kicked it by then, the other team takes possession. You can score from the kick-off. You place the ball directly on the corner for corner kicks. No goal kicks are allowed. You must throw the ball in play. You have four seconds to put the ball in play or the other team gets the ball. Once a team has five fouls, the other team gets awarded a direct freekick with no wall for every subsequent foul. Futsal doesn't allow any rough play, such as shouldering or sliding tackles. Yellow and red cards are used just like in football.

Futsal is really fun because you only have five players. One is a goalie and 4 out on the field. My favourite thing about futsal is the futsal ball and the goal because it is not big like a football goal. People like futsal because there is no offsides. The best way to play futsal is to wear the right gear for the game because futsal is a game that you play on a field but on the concrete or a futsal stadium. My dad plays futsal and I asked him what is his favorite position, he told me that is favourite the middle because thats where all the action is.
